Recording Programs - Mai Mee Tur - 04 Apr 11

There was a musicians thread, and now, for those of you who responded to that thread or just didn't, I feel it is pertinent to ask those who record their own music what program they use.

I myself use Sony Vegas Pro 10, as opposed to other products in the Sony Vegas family.

What do you use?

Edit: (Most of these programs were the ones I could think of off the top of my head)

RE: Recording Programs - Lantry - 05 Apr 11

I put Audacity, just because it is the only one on this list that I have installed. I don't use it to record anything, just for quick, simple music/sound editing.

RE: Recording Programs - Ronald_Reagan - 05 Apr 11

Do people commonly use video editing software (final cut pro) to record their music?

RE: Recording Programs - Mai Mee Tur - 05 Apr 11

Not generally, but they can if it's the kind of software that will allow simple audio recording.

Sony Vegas goes either way, so it's very versatile, amazing quality as well

So then may I suggest changing it to the audio equivalent Logic?

RE: Recording Programs - Mai Mee Tur - 05 Apr 11

I shall do that

Garageband.

RE: Recording Programs - Cactus - 05 Apr 11

Surprised not to see REAPER on that list!

RE: Recording Programs - Mai Mee Tur - 05 Apr 11

These were all off the top of my head :P

RE: Recording Programs - Cactus - 05 Apr 11

REAPER is awesome, use it for all my recording stuff. It's like a high-tech-much-better-version of Audacity, and it's free. :D

RE: Recording Programs - Viper - 06 Apr 11

I like Audacity. Its free, easy to use, and you can't go wrong with it.

RE: Recording Programs - V-Man - 06 Apr 11

Anything I can get my hands on for free. :-P
Of course, having been gifted a copy of Sony Acid Music 3.0 made me partial to that.
