stfu noob...
you are new in this game?
you contact a server admin:
"i can i disturb you 1 mn pls?"
"sup?"......

you give a council to improve a good job:
"do it yourself".....

you give your point of view on a discussion in game:
"stfu noob!".....

this game is open source not mind :)

so if you are new...don't use irc, don't post on forum, don't give your point of view......maybe just change game or play only LAN or you take the risk to annoying the good old 0.93 players :)

(this is only what experience a new commer in AC)

keep up the good job ;)

do it yourself

on a serious note, be more elaborate :)

Plus, http://woop.us/2108
You think you are pissed off?
What happens when you have a massive bunch of queries open up with people saying:
Code:
<noob> hi, got a min?
(??)

<boon> r u there?
(wait and find out)

<boon> ive got a problem
(you /certainly/ do)

<oobn> can i ask a stupid question?
(you just did)

<bono> my friend is blacklisted
(I'm not telepathic)

Be more considerate, because you're not the only one putting things forward. For every admin, there are a dozen of people who will ask for help and questions all the time. The job is not easy, and don't start complaining. We're doing our very best that we can but sometimes we simply cannot provide everything you want, especially given that it's FOR FREE.

Of course, some of the rules for #woop-clan would apply quite well outside the channel itself. At least by following some good common sense you'll show that you are indeed considerate of the efforts of the people you're inquiring.

RE: stfu noob...
i think i have respect the fact that admin do a lot of free work for the game.

first thing,i have respect the way to contact this admin like it's explain on his website,by e-mail that is always without a answer 2 month later.

second,i go on irc i see he is online,i try...."hi can i disturb you 1mn pls?
something wrong in my request?
if i get no answer,i understand and respect that this guy don't have time :)
he answer me: "sup?"......
this mean "who are you? i know you? leave me alone i don't give a ..... to what you want".
so no answer or something like "not now","i can't" was respectfull :)
for sure i will not troll him because he don't have time :) i'm not a child :)

but the point is not this only case this is a feeling of new comer in AC (certainly useless).
i think i have just express here the feeling of a hundred newcomer player that have try to communicate with the community.......just have a look on this forum...or maybe on the edit you put in woop irc rules :)

(can you speak to me with a good poetic french language? at least i try to do my best in your language :) you are welcome for a good french grammatical chat :) )
hmm big post :s sorry

RE: stfu noob...
pakit, I couldn't disagree with you more.

For the most part, it is VERY easy to become connected with the AC community. This community, as far as online ones go, is extremely small, and getting involved is super easy. Take a look at how many people have joined this forum lately, and are consistently coming on and posting stuff.

And I fail to see how 'sup?' meant he didn't know you or was uninterested in what you had to say. You just need to learn to speak gangsta ma home dawg. Spend some time in da hood.

(But seriously, while this community may not necessarily welcome new players with open arms, if you want to be involved, it's not that hard).

maybe older player can understand that some player are new in this kind of things and treat them like they are the most stupid guys on earth is not really
mature for me....and don't give the will to try to do something because you are stupid (i mean me in this case) :)
i have read this forum for more than 6 month before log in for first time, because i have see a lot of new player having few consideration from more experienced player....
i think a lot are like me,they want to do something but are afraid to be treat like a ......

... no, it means "sup?" = "what's up?" = "what's going on?" = "how can I help you?"...
You got just this bit wrong and your argument falls from here on.

RE: stfu noob...
Actually, I would classify "sup?" as an indifferent greeting in most cases. Especially in video games. Ever seen Pure Pwnage?

I agree with pakit on this. Open source communities are mean. This is not news. But can you blame them? For every 1 person who asks intelligent questions theres 50 noobs who can't read the readme.

maybe just take time to told them to have a look on it with a little smile at end can change everything :)
i understand the hard work done by some people i respect it :) if some of them can be more patinet AC will be gamers heaven :) don't forget everybody have start one day, with the mind full of stupid question :)

drakas:ok this argument was wrong and like i say before i'm not here for this particular case, there is a list of argument and i can make you entire pages of exemples...but your edit in woop irc rules is the best exemple :) thank you for help :)

RE: stfu noob...
You have a point pakit. However, what you describe is not the experience of all new players and not all "old" players treat the new players in the same manner.

RE: stfu noob...
maybe you just happened to have a bad experience early on, Ive found for the most part that everyone on AC has been more than happy to help or chat etc, unfortunately youll always have a few impatient gamers but I guess thats true of any game

On the same note, thanks to all the old school guys and devs who have been more than willing to help when I needed it, its much appreciated and keeps me coming back :)

RE: stfu noob...
you are right tipper :) i don't see things in black and white :)
and i also think it's the internet way of communication that is like this......i have pass a lot of time on forum to learn to build valve amplificator....and you find the same kind of agresivity of some older guys against new comers interested .......internet is unpersonnal, easier to behave bad than in real life :s

RE: stfu noob...
Oh, i build valve amplifiers Pakit. What are you learning to build?
Maybe you could drop into DES irc one day, or the forums and we can talk about valve amps without boring the rest of ac to death :)
I've just finished a valve headphone amp which i'm rather pleased with. I build speakers and record decks as well.

Does someone knows what the hell this guy is talking about? As far as I know "preamplificatore" and "amplificatore" are italian words but seriously, wtf?

or maybe only native english speaker have the right to communicate here?
all the world have to learn english....people are good, other less...but they try,so don't feel like god because you have a perfect english when maybe you're just unable to speak another language than your perfect native english :)
