AssaultCube
AssaultCube is a free, open source, first person shooter based on the popular Cube FPS. It is multi-platform and low on system and networking requirements. It is set in realistic looking environments with fast and fun gameplay. AssaultCube can be found on Wikipedia. Feel free to check out the AssaultCube's homepage.
The latest AssaultCube release is v1.0.4:
Patch to update any 1.0.x to 1.0.4 for Windows
Patch to update any 1.0.x to 1.0.4 for Linux
Full 1.0.4 installation package for Mac
Windows and Linux users still have to wait for a 1.0.4 full installer. If you're new to AC, install 1.0.2 (Download AssaultCube 1.0.2) first, then update to 1.0.4.
Help!
If you have a problem or a question, try reading the AssaultCube README.
If your question is still not answered, you can check the frequently asked questions, search the forum or ask a question in Internet Relay Chat.
For getting the quickest, most helpful and most likely to be correct response from your support-request you should follow a few simple guidelines. If you really want to read up on how not to be a Help Vampire and how to Ask Smart Questions you're more than happy to .. but for AC here's a quick run-down of the main points:
- say what your OperatingSystem and it's patch-level is
- give the brand and make/model of your onboard/card hardware where these are involved (graphics, sound, ..)
- give the exact package name you downloaded from SF.net
- describe - in detail - how you get to creating the error, or as much background on what you feel makes the error happen
- if there's output in your logs give it
- if there's a MessageBox giving information, screenshot it and give us the info
