A special event team (also known as special event clan or national team), is a group of gamers residing in the same country who come together in order to participate in certain event.

Clan vs. Team

A special event team doesn't replace a existing clan. The players only get together to practice or for an actual event. Only in those situations should the players use their team's "Tag". It's not to be used on a regular basis on public servers. [Then you would be defeating the purpose of making a special event team.] Currently in AssaultCube, teams representing their country are forming to compete in the AssaultCube World Cup.

"Clan" and "special event team" are difficult to separate because gamers commonly use the terms "clan" and "team" interchangeably. A Special Event Team is in fact a clan, but a different kind. It's like comparing the Buffalo Sabres [NHL Ice Hockey Team] to Team USA. [Men's World Championship Ice Hockey Team] They both compete against other teams in the same sport, and even share some of the same players. But the main difference, is that Team USA only plays in the IIHF Men's World Championship while the Buffalo Sabres do not.

In order to become a National Team you should....

make sure there isn't already one for your country.
set up a website for your team.
announce your team to the public.
make sure you have at least 4 active players since teams for clan wars usually are 4 vs. 4 and 2 vs. 2.
